Penguin difference
Gypsy Cove is primarily a Magellanic-penguin site. Bertha’s Beach has gentoo and Magellanic penguins. Neither substitutes for Volunteer Point if king penguins are the priority.
Convenience
Gypsy Cove’s proximity—about 8.5 km from central Stanley—is its biggest advantage. Bertha’s requires arranged access to Fitzroy Farm and should be treated as an excursion rather than a spontaneous taxi stop.
Wildlife variety
Bertha’s wider wetland/coastal setting supports endemic steamer ducks and other birds, with Commerson’s and Peale’s dolphins frequently reported. Gypsy Cove offers coastal views and wildlife while preserving more time for Stanley.
