Stanley offers everything from an easy waterfront stroll to exposed half-day and full-day walks. For a first visit, combine the central waterfront with either Gypsy Cove for wildlife or Cape Pembroke for a much longer coastal outing.
Stanley waterfront and historic center
This is the easiest walk from the public jetty, linking Christ Church Cathedral, the Whalebone Arch, waterfront monuments and central Stanley. It works well during a short cruise call.
Gypsy Cove
Gypsy Cove combines coastal views with Magellanic penguin habitat and other birds. Use marked routes and keep the required wildlife distance.
Cape Pembroke

Historic hills
Mount Tumbledown and nearby 1982 battlefield landscapes can be visited on foot with appropriate route knowledge. Remain on established or advised routes and respect warning signs and private land.

Under two hours, stay with Stanley waterfront and the historic center. With more time, Gypsy Cove is about 6.5 km from Stanley and adds accessible wildlife. Cape Pembroke is a different commitment: the official route is about 17 km, so it belongs in a half-day or longer plan rather than a last-minute cruise walk.
