You can travel between East and West Falkland either by FIGAS flight or the Concordia Bay ferry between New Haven and Port Howard. FIGAS is usually the more direct choice for foot passengers building an island-hopping itinerary; the ferry is particularly useful when taking a vehicle between the two main islands.
Concordia Bay ferry
The ferry links New Haven on East Falkland with Port Howard on West Falkland. Official tourism information gives the crossing as roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. It carries passengers, vehicles and freight, but it does not operate like a bridge with constant departures: consult the current schedule and book the crossing that fits your itinerary.
Getting to the ferry terminals
The crossing is only part of the journey. You still need road transport to New Haven and onward transport from Port Howard. If you are hiring a vehicle, confirm that the rental company permits the intended route and ferry transport before booking.
FIGAS
